Video ‘How to paint the Dark Lord Sauron’

“One ring to rule them all. One ring find them. One ring to bring them all, and in the darkness bind them”

Hands up who likes Lord of the Rings? *raises hand* So I’d tried to avoid the games for years because I already had plenty of 40k and other games to work on, and couldn’t face more undercoated miniatures goading me from their storage. In September I finally gave in and picked up Pelenor Fields and since then a few other little bits. Sauron (pronounced Saw-ron in the old 1978 cartoon I grew up with and Sow-ron in the films) was an ebay purchase who’s face was heavily caked in Superglue (to the point where I couldn’t see any features). I managed to get the worst of it off, but some was pretty stubborn – this is why his face looks like he’s been beaten with a shovel.

When you stand him next to the normal folk he’s huge, and I thought it fitting to paint him up as the first LotR miniature to appear on the channel.

It’s a great miniature, weighs a ton and uses a really small palette to paint. A list of paints can be found below the video.
