Video ‘How to Paint Grey Cloaks and Robes’

In this short video I’ll be painting up Gandalf the Grey’s robes/cloak grey to show how I’d approach painting them. The same technique can be used on any miniature to paint the cloak. I deliberately kept the edges to the layers a little rough and ready because Gandalf’s robes look like he’s been dragged through Fangorn Forrest backwards. Really pleased with the result, but if you’re going for smoother robes that look less tatty, just take a little more time with your brush and you can’t go wrong.
